Let’s Talk about Energy Conservation
We might not like to admit it, but autumn is on its way. As we continue to train our drivers and technicians and fine-tune our trucks and equipment, Sound Energy wants to take the time to discuss some energy conservation tips you can use at home to reduce costs this fall!
The temperatures outside are going to start falling soon, let’s make sure your energy bills do the same!
Different ways to conserve energy this fall include:
- Letting the sunshine in: During mild days, open your blinds or drapes to let the sun in and naturally warm your home. If it’s warmer than usual, you can open your windows instead of turning on your boiler or furnace too!
- Schedule a system tune-up: Annual maintenance tune-ups help improve efficiency, extend the lifespan of your equipment, and save you money! If you didn’t schedule your tune-up in the spring, make sure you schedule your tune-up now!
- Using your ceiling fans: Fans are an excellent money-saving tool. During colder weather, turn your fan to spin in a clockwise direction to pull the warm air down and circulate it around the room.
- Seal your doors and windows. Drafty homes waste huge amounts of energy by letting the air you are heating or cooling slip right through the cracks. Before the thermometer starts to drop, check around your doors and windows for gaps and cracks.
Another great way to prepare for the chilly season is by scheduling your heating oil delivery before the leaves start to change. Or better yet, enroll in automatic deliveries, and we’ll schedule your deliveries for you!
