We’re Thinking About Your Summer Comfort, Are You?

Things just might be starting to finally warm up! With that in mind, we figure it’s a good time to think about how Connecticut homeowners will maintain their comfort when the summer’s heat rolls in. What kind of shape is your air conditioning system in?

Find out if your AC could use an upgrade! Ask yourself if…

Your cooling costs have increased. Outdated cooling equipment can see a big drop in efficiency, so it uses more energy to provide your home with the same amount of cool comfort you’ve been relying on since you installed the system.

Your repair costs have increased. Older equipment has seen many years of use and a lot of wear and tear. This leads to many frequent repair calls, which can really pile up and start costing you more than you’d like to spend on keeping your system functional.

Your cooling equipment was manufactured before 2010. Before 2010, air conditioning systems used a refrigerant that was found to be harmful to our planet’s ozone layer when released into the atmosphere. This refrigerant, known as R-22, was phased out by the EPA as of January 2020. Since it’s no longer being produced or imported, the cost of recharging equipment that uses this refrigerant is increasing.
