What To Do Before You Call Us for Emergency Service

- 4:15 pm - October 16th, 2025

One thing that sets Sound Energy apart from other home comfort companies in Connecticut is that we provide 24-hour emergency service. You can’t say that about those discount fuel companies whose only job is to fill your tank!

Our expert service teams are available around the clock, every day of the year, to repair your heating equipment. With just one call, our family-owned and -operated company will arrive to diagnose the problem and get your heating system up and running again. That certainly is a relief if your furnace or boiler should break down when the temperature outside is below freezing!

However, we encourage you to test your heating system before calling for a “no heat” emergency service call. It only takes a few steps:

TURN ON: Make sure the emergency switch is in the “on” position and turn up the thermostat at least 10 degrees higher than the actual room temperature.

TUNE IN: Next, listen carefully. Within a few minutes, you should hear your system hum into action.

SWITCH ON: If the equipment doesn’t start up, press the reset button on your burner’s relay (only press it once).

If your system still doesn’t start, consider these points before calling Sound Energy for what might be an unnecessary service call:

  • Are the emergency switches on? (There may be two: one at the stairs and one at the boiler.)

  • Did the fuse or circuit breaker for your equipment trip?

  • Is the thermostat set properly?

  • Is there oil in the tank? (Remember, if you are enrolled in automatic delivery, you should never run out of fuel.

Very often, one of these above issues is a cause of a system shutdown – but if your boiler or furnace still won’t start, or if it emits an odor or strange sound, please call us at 203-655-2539
(24 hours a day) or
contact us. We’ll be at your home in no time, so you can rest easy!
