Another thing you may not have known – the heating oil industry is committed to making this green fuel even greener! At a meeting in Providence of more than 300 heating professionals from across the northeast, industry leaders committed themselves to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Per this Providence Resolution, we are working to reach a 15% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2023, 40% by 2030, and net-zero by 2050.
Over the past 12 months, experts from every northeast state have worked to set out definitive plans to reach these goals. Just this week they are meeting again to lay out the Path to Net Zero.
