What’s That Sound?

Modern home comfort equipment is built to operate quietly – so when you notice your air conditioning system making more noise than usual, it’s typically an early indication that something might be wrong. Listen up for any of the following problems that may be trying to get your attention so you can call Sound Energy to check up on your AC system!

  • Loose or broken parts can cause a banging noise – this can indicate that there is an issue with the indoor blower or that the compressor needs replacing
  • A sign of a defective control or failing thermostat is a constant clicking of the electrical components of your AC system
  • Buzzing and squealing coming from the system are signs of the following: loose or out of balance fan blades, old air filters, or a bad motor
  • High-pitched whistling or screaming requires immediate attention! If you hear this sound, turn your system off immediately and call Sound Energy – this sound is likely caused by a refrigerant leak, which can damage your AC and threaten your family’s health.

It’s always better to be safe than sorry – so no matter what you think an unusual sound may be, contact us and we’ll come down to take a look. The last thing you need is a mid-summer meltdown due to a broken air conditioning system!
