Weathering the Storm: Winter Safety Tips

- 10:00 am - January 11th, 2024

Our good friend winter is here to stay for a while, and winter storms have already made their grand entrance. While your heating system is working hard to keep you warm, there are some safety measures you can take to protect you and everyone inside your home. At Sound Energy, we strive to maintain customer safety, so consider these tips to keep your family safe and warm!

Tips to Stay Safe This Winter:

  • Clear your driveway and walkways of any snow or debris. This will protect first responders, postmen, and your family members from a potential fall. Keeping paths clear will also allow our employees to safely access your home to keep your heating system up and running. If you cannot clear your walkway yourself, call a neighbor or friend.

  • Have your air vents cleaned and replace your air filters. You should have your air filters checked monthly; they should be replaced if necessary. A clean air filter will help your system work more efficiently.

  • Have a plan for emergencies! In case of a power outage, make sure your family has a plan to stay safe and warm. For fires, have an evacuation plan in place, and make sure everyone knows the phone numbers to alert emergency services.

  • Check your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms. Make sure the batteries are replaced and the alarms are functioning properly, so these devices can help keep you and your family safe.
